In a nutshell: soon-to-be Oberlin grad, archaeology wonk, sexual health educator, and aspiring nurse. Generally found volunteering at an abortion clinic, meditating, ranting about gender, or trying to finish my thesis. Feel free to ask me anything.
I've used this Tumblr for a few things in the past, but right now it's a trove of interesting things, with varying degrees of quality and original content. I'm also responsible for Transcending Anatomy.

Since this is still getting reblogs, so I wanted to post a quick update on the status of the zine. I’m doing fieldwork this summer (I’m an archaeology student) and my Internet access is limited, so things are moving slowly – but they are still moving!
I got a ton of incredible responses to the survey, and I’m really grateful to everyone who responded. At this point I have a pretty solid draft of the zine (it’s 39 pages – eep!) So far the only people who have seen it are the other students in my class, who all responded incredibly positively. As soon as I can, I’ll send a preview copy to the people who took the survey, to get their feedback and respond to any suggestions that they have. My goal is to have a final version online by the end of August; all the material will be posted on a dedicated Tumblr account, and available as a downloadable pdf.
I’ve closed the survey because I can’t keep paying to keep my SurveyMonkey account active. That said, if anyone wants to send me additional material, you’re more than welcome – I’ll eventually be putting out a second issue of the zine, and/or posting comments and responses on Tumblr. If you have any suggestions or concerns at any point, please send me a message or an email (egoldber@oberlin.edu).

I’m a college student who identifies as trans and queer. This semester I’m taking a course in peer sexual health education. While the course has been great, I’ve been frustrated with the way trans people are presented, as basically a series of surgery photos…
